All across our riding there are families that have food on the table tonight because of the jobs that come from the forestry industry. We know that after years of a Liberal government that has failed to negotiate a new softwood lumber deal, thousands of forest workers across BC have lost their jobs.

Now we see a BC NDP MLA, one responsible for forests, say there are “too many mills” in BC.

I am calling on NDP MP Ricard Cannings and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh to condemn the comments of their provincial colleague and stand by forest workers in our riding.

I can commit to every single person in South Okanagan-West Kootenay that depends on the forest sector, I have your back.
